Bright Eyes.

Everyone wants brighter eyes right?
And with the right products, you can achieve them.
  1. Decrease puffyness - Dip a cotton pad in icy water. It will tone down any inflamation.
  2. Banish dark circles - Firstly, get enough sleep! Fatigue can cause dark circles. Then, get some concealer. Match it to your skintone, and for best results, a light yellow tint in it really helps.
  3. Invest in some white eyeliner - ...and apply to the lower waterline. A simple but effective way to brighten up the whites of your eyes.
  4. And a little gold eyeliner too - It look create on top, you can apply it under black liquid liner, making it a little thicker.
  5. Finish with dramatic lashes - Curl and apply your favourite volumising mascara, I'm a fan of Maybelline Collosal Volume.

Swavy hair is so '09.

(That's slightly wavy)
Think a little Gossip Girl, a little beach-y and you've got it pretty much covered.

Polished hair always looks great, but for the daytime,
you need a little edge.
When washing your hair, massage your scalp to boost volume, use a volumising mousse if you must, and blowdry fairly straight.
Then use heated rollers to acheive gorgeous, natural looking waves and
finish off with a spritz of John Freida 'Dream Curls Curl Perfecter' and a little hairspray (Loreal Elnett Satin is favoured by many)
It's an easy look and one perfected by the likes of Blake, Kate, Kylie and this summer, maybe you.
PS: A few blonde highlights look great, if you're not naturally blessed then shop around and ask your hair dresser to put some in.

Pastels are back.

When you're feeling a little unsure, pastels are a sure-fire way to achieve a gorgeous makeup look without forcing you to stand out, and recently, Claudia, Kylie and Scarlett have been sporting pastel eyes.
Try No7 Petal Eye Palette - Sweep the pale pink over your socket, and highlight with the pale green. If you do want to stand out, draw a thin line on both the top and bottom lid and finish with a little brown mascara.
To stay on trend, slick on some shimmery lipstick like Rimmel Rich Moisture Cream in whichever colour suits you. Personally, we love Paradise.

Splurge of the day.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I went for a trip round Manchester today with a friend and we went into House of Fraser and had a look round the makeup counters, deciding we'd ask around for makeover prices.
Whilst MAC's makeovers cost £25, Benefit's came in at absolutely nothing.
The lovely counter girl made my skin smoother, softer and much better looking and I decided to buy one of the products used.
I chose 'YouRebel lite.' It's a tinted moisturiser and comes in at £19.50 or $30.
Bit of splurge but oh, so worth it.
I balanced out the big spend and got 2 little eyeshadow duos from Natural Collection, it's not the most amazing makeup, but it's nice for daytime wear.
I bought Cocoa/Strawberry and Apple/Frost (£1.99 each)

Confessions Of A Shopaholic Inspired Palette.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Too Faced Cosmetics have released a new makeup palette based on the new film Confessions Of A Shopaholic.
The palette, that includes concealer, face powder and eyeshadows, costs $29.50 and can be purchased here.
I must say, with it's cute packaging and checklist it looks very tempting. I think I'll dip into my funds.

Spring's Hot Hair Trends.

Elegant Twists.
  1. Gather a small section of your hair from near the front of your head.
  2. Begin to twist and as you do gather very small sections of hair and add to the twist.
  3. Keep going and when you're happy with your twist use bobby pins and hair spray to fix in place.
You can do this on both sides if you wish and pair it either with tousled beachy hair or a loose chignon.
Ballerina Hair.
Think slicked back at the front and hot chignons at the back.
Don't be afraid to let it get a little messy - superneat hair is so 2008!
Shoulder Length Bobs.
Heidi Klum, Kate Moss and Lily Allen have already jumped on this band wagon, and it's set to be a hot hair look for early '09.

Tips For Better Hair.

Like many girls, I spend hours each week washing, brushing and styling my hair, and like many girls I forever wish I could click my fingers and achieve flawless locks.
Unfortunately, that kind of magic just doesn't exist in our world, what does exists are certain tips and tricks that can help you achieve more desirable hair, and I've collected the best of them.

Shine - After shampooing and conditioning rinse your hair through with cold water. It may not be pleasant, but it boosts all-over shine, especially if done frequently.
-Invest in a shine boosting serum and apply it after washing. Botanics Hair Shine Infusion Serum works well and is inexpensive. Charles Worthington Dream Hair also do a variety of products to increase shine.
Anti-Breakage - Instead of brushing through hair after washing go through it with a wide-tooth comb. You can get these at virtually any supermarket and beauty/drug store. Using one of these help reduce breakage when your hair is at it's most fragile.
Frizz Reducing - Your hairs natural oils can prevent frizz and by washing daily you are stripping your hair of them. If you're a daily washer cut down to every two days and you will see a difference.
-Avoid hair products containing alcohol - these dry out and therefore frizz up your hair.
Volumising - When drying your hair with a hair dryer, tip your head upside down and give your roots a quick blast to give your hair some oomph.
-I've discovered that massaging your scalp during washing can help give your hair a volume boost at the roots.
Prevent Grease - Avoid washing your hair everyday as this can encourage your the sebum producing glands in your scalp to overwork.
-You can condition your hair, but make your you only do the ends, not the roots.

I hope you found these tips useful, for information on products, feel free to leave a comment and I will try and get back to your a.s.a.p.

Get Blair Waldorf's Look.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Let's admit it, as far as superb*tches go, Blair has got to be our favourite.

She's fashionable, she's sassy and her make-up is always flawless.

Luckily, it's also totally easy to re-create.

Firstly, use mineral foundation for the base.

The Body Shop's Nature's Minerals Foundation in 01 or 02, depending on your colouring. Use a foundation brush for even coverage. Rimmel also do nice foundations if you're a bit short on money.

Next, a pinky-red blusher such as Rimmel Mono Blush is perfect. Apply to the apples of the cheeks.

For the eyes, a chocolate brown eyeshadow (Collection 2000 do some nice ones) on just the socket and a dark brown eyeliner on the top lid and bottom lid waterline like ELFs Brightening Eyeliner in Coffee.

Finally, for the lips, apply lip balm or vaseline and then a lip tint, I would definately recommend The Body Shop's Lip Tint in 01 Rose Pink as it's the perfect colour and lasts for ages. You could also apply a red wine lipstick for bolder lips.
Finish with some vintage pearls and a hairband with a bow and you have Blair's super-chic statement look nailed!
